 http://www.kernfortexas.com/

Gerald is a long time Arlington resident that has raised his family and built his small business here in the district. Gerald studied at the University of Texas at Arlington with a focus on business. While serving in the US Army, he studied at the Medical Department Center and School to be a Psychiatric Specialist. He also attended the US Army Military Intelligence School to serve as a Military Intelligence Analyst. Gerald has continued serving others by remaining active in organizations like Aidmatrix Foundation where he serves on the Governor’s Advisory Board Member. The Aidmatrix Foundation facilitates the donation of relief aid valued over $1.5 billion a year to over 52,000 non profits globally.

In Arlington, the Foundation has saved Mission Arlington over $3 million in medical supplies to help support their clinic. They provide support for over 47 U.S. States, territory and city governments and with members of Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. Through partnerships with Feeding America, Global Foodbanking Network, United Nations World Food Programme, and other global food bank and hunger relief programs, Aidmatrix enables more food to be connected with the hungry through our hunger relief solutions. The result is that less food is wasted, and more food makes it to organizations that serve the hungry.

Each month, our food bank partners around the globe move more than 50 million pounds (26.7 mil kilos) of food per month into the hands of over 35,000 local hunger and relief agencies using our solutions The Foundation also provides logistics support to many of the major disasters both locally and abroad. From the West plant explosion, Oklahoma tornadoes, fires in Colorado, Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, to earthquakes in Haiti, tsunami in Japan, typhoon in the Philippines, relief in Honduras, to warehouse relief support in Jerusalem, just name a few. We have moved medical supplies and resources within our network of clinics, valued at more than $50 million in relief, to date. Free clinics nationwide receive discounted and donated medicines and medical supplies through the system.

With initial funding was from AT&T and other tech partners, We are working to support the introduction of a workforce development program that will ultimately transform the lives of 10,000 people. Creating vocation job training at various high schools, In Lewisville ISD we did a pilot program partnered with LISD and Accenture. We offered free Microsoft Officer Certification, resume building, life leadership coaching, and internships with the Aidmatrix Foundation, Interstate Batteries, PeopleAnswers, Texas Health Resources, and other leading firms in the DFW Metroplex. The foundation has also partnered up with some of the country’s and world top freight transportation agencies. We can move relief aid globally faster and more cost effectively saving organizations valuable cash.

In Texas we have saved the Texas Food Bank Network the equivalent of over 65,000 meals Texas Transportation Pilot Results in Almost 9% Savings Per Purchased Load. For animals, partnering with Purina during a pilot program, nearly half a million dollars in food was among 380 animal shelters. In the first month of our program in Texas, we facilitated the donation of $165,327 worth of food to local animal shelters. Active with Pathways Core Training Core Training program is the successor to self-empowerment trainings created by Dr. Phil McGraw in 1985.

Today it works with military veterans with PTSD and their families, special needs families, and the caregivers of cancer patients, as well as programs designed to strengthen the family relationships with teenage kids. My work on inpatient PTSD units while I was in the military has given me a strong connection to servicemen and servicewomen making the healthy adjustment back to civilian life and workforce. I enjoy working with veterans and their families beyond Pathways and have been helpful in job placement and making other social service referrals.
