Nathaniel (Nathan) Tsai was born in Glendale, CA and was raised in Alhambra before moving to San Marino. During his time at San Marino High School, Nathan was a member of the San Marino Speech and Debate team for all four years of his high school career. He was awarded the Eagle Scout and is currently a member of the National Eagle Scout Association. The American Legion fully sponsored his participation in Boys State. Nathan has been a competitive club swimmer since age 8 at Swim Pasadena under the coaching of Head Coach Terry Stoddard.
As a swimmer, he has represented the United States in international competition on 5 consecutive All Star teams.Nathan graduated from San Marino High School in 2013 and is now a student at Claremont McKenna College. At CMC he is active in the College Republican Club, a Cadet in the US Army ROTC program, and is a swimmer on the Claremont Mudd Scripps Intercollegiate Swim and Dive team. He is the current President of CMC's Stark Hall dormitory.
Nathan has a passion for animals and has volunteered over 100 hours for the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA and has adopted his dog, Yogi. He loves to eat at the numerous unique restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley, and can almost always be easily persuaded to try something new. Being an only child, he loves to spend time with friends and family whenever he gets the chance. He loves all kinds of movies from Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings to Toy Story and The Notebook. Nathan also loves the outdoors and has spent many days camping, kayaking, rock climbing, orienteering, hiking, etc.
